PARENT CONNECT

Formative and Summative grades are posted on MiStar. Please check this frequently.

HOMEWORK

Homework is due at the beginning of the hour. It is graded on effort, however, it is important that the students check and correct their homework. Late homework assignments will have a point deducted from them. Late work will need to be turned in to the Late Work folder and must include full name, assignment number and hour. Students will have one week from the due date to turn late work.

SUMMATIVE POINTS

Students will have several quizzes during the marking period. There are no retakes on quizzes.

Tests are given during the marking period. Depending on the number of questions determines whether there is a retake. Students will be allowed to retake the test if they have no missing work and complete a review assignment.

Khan Academy is assigned almost every week. Students are expected to spend 30 minutes on answering skill questions. The students will be graded on appropriate use of their time. Video minutes will not be included and number of problems based on difficultly will be monitored.

Students will have a homework quiz at least once every marking period. It is important that students check their homework in class, so they can be prepared to take the quiz.

ABSENCES

Students are responsible for turning in and getting the work that they missed. They need to place their absent work in the yellow folder. The assignments should have their full name, assignment number and hour. If it does not have this information, it will be placed in the red folder and not graded.

SLOT

Students are expected to come in class and begin their SLOT work in their spiral SLOT notebook immediately. If a student is absent, they are expected to go to the SLOT binder and copy the problems for the days they are absent.

SLOT spiral notebooks will be graded approximately every week. There will also be a quiz/test on the material covered in their slot.
