Dear Mr Goldsworthy,
I would like my previous objection to site reference 2012/00933/OUT, to be transferred to the new application for the same site, reference 2013/00884/OUT.
I would also like to express my disappointment regarding the way this application has been handled by the Vale of Glamorgan Council.
This is the fourth time that Wenvoe residents have been asked to make an objection to this site without any decision having been made. During the LDP process, over 262 residents objected to this proposal. An analysis of the Representations Register has proved that this site received more objections than any other development site in the plan, highlighting the strength of feeling in our small village.
Following this, we made an objection to the planning application (2012/00933/OUT), which our council deliberately allowed to expire, and which is now in the process of being appealed to the Welsh Government.
Therefore residents are now in a situation whereby we are resubmitting our objections to our council, whilst also being expected to make our opinions known to the Planning Inspectorate.
Also, following this new (although identical) application, only those living closest to the site will be notified by the Council. All those who objected during the LDP process, and the vast majority of the 150+ residents that objected to the planning application, will be blissfully unaware of the new application. This is not an acceptable situation.
The council has already recommended approval for 220 houses at ITV, Culverhouse Cross in our community. The addition of a further 140 houses in our small village is clearly unsustainable in every respect.
Destruction of our valuable countryside and high-quality grade 3a agricultural land should not take place whilst brownfield sites are readily available in the Vale.
Please take my views into account and pass them on to the Planning Committee.
