The Chapter organized three conferences through 2005, the Chapter Spring Conference (March in Kananaskis), The Pacific Northwest Regional Conference (July in Edmonton) and the Chapter Fall Conference (November in Edmonton). All the conferences were successful. The Chapter was required to remit $10,000 to the PNW Region after the Regional Conference but we still managed to come through the year ‘in the black’.

5.2.President’s Report

This has been a busy year with all the conference planning. The Regional Conference was well attended and the US delegates were impressed with the program, activities and spirit. Delegates were also impressed by the quality of the University of Calgary architecture student school design projects that were displayed during the conference. The Fall Conference was also well attended and Ed Paras deserves special thanks for planning and hosting the conference sessions.

  1. International Report

Hugh Skinner has enjoyed his time as President of CEFPI with many opportunities for involvement and travel within the organization. Membership is still growing with Australia poised to catch up to Canadian membership numbers. The High Performance School Buildings Conference in Scottsdale in February, 2006 was very successful. Hugh Skinner would like to encourage presentations and proposals by Canadians at CEFPI conferences to increase awareness of Canadian issues. The CEFPI will begin a strategic planning process in mid-July in Scottsdale and will be looking for representation from all the Chapters.
