STAN LEE'S POW! ENTERTAINMENT ANNOUNCES NEW PROJECT “ARCH ALIEN”
Writer/Producer Bill Macdonald and Director Ralph Hemecker to co-create
Mission Control Entertainment will produce with Hualien Media financing
LOS ANGELES – Oct. 30, 2015 -Hualien Media and Mission Control Entertainment announced that they’ve teamed up with famed comic book creator, POW! Entertainment's Stan Lee, writer/producer Bill Macdonald and director Ralph Hemecker to create ARCH ALIEN, a groundbreaking new action thriller film franchise laced with conspiracy, mysticism and alien mythology. The announcement comes in advance of Stan Lee’s annual Comikaze Expo, which begins today in Los Angeles.
Lee, best known for comic book and film icons such as Spider-Man™, The Avengers™ and Iron Man™,is creating ARCH ALIEN through his own POW! Entertainment. Hualien Media will fully finance the film, with Marcus Morton producing and Hualien Media’s George Hsieh, Brandon Millan, Gill Champion and Sam Frankel executive producing.
Says Hsieh: “I couldn’t be more excited to be partnering with this incredible team, helping to further our vision at Hualien of creating stories and characters within a fully realized world.”
The team will be discussing the project on the panel at this year’s Comikaze Expo after giving tantalizing hints to his Twitter followers during San Diego Comic Con earlier this year. Further details of the project are unknown.
Story and characters will be written by Lee, Macdonald and Hemecker, the latter two sharing a decades-long friendship and working relationship. Macdonald, a Golden Globe-nominated writer for his work on HBO’s ROME, and Hemecker, currently directing hit CW superhero series THE FLASH and ABC’s fantasy epic ONCE UPON A TIME, are also teaming up to pen the screenplay, with Hemecker set to direct.

The first film in the franchise, ARCH ALIEN, is set to begin principal photography March 7, 2016, and will be shot in multiple countries around the world including the U.S. and China. A comic book of the same name will also be published simultaneously in English and Chinese in early 2016.
Millan brokered the deal with Hualien.
