Introduction
This checklist shall be used to record Health, Safety and Environmental induction training providedto
-new employees (temporary and permanent),
-existing employees who are working at a different work premises to their normal place of work1
-contractors and self-employed persons2
-contract / agency workers2
-students on work experience
who will be carrying out work activities at any Thomson Airways Engineering premises, to ensure that they have basic health, safety and environmental knowledge required to work safely.
1Theserequirements may not apply to existing employees working at a different premises to their normal place of work.
2Applies to long term contractors, self-employed persons and contract/agencyworkers only who are working at Thomson Airways premises as their normal place of work for extended periods with a permanent airside pass and/or Thomson log-in.

Responsibility
It is the Managers’ responsibility to ensure that an induction is carried out on the first working day or, if this is not practicable,at the earliest possible opportunity and this checklist completed for any persons who they are responsible for or who are working in areas under their control.
This checklist must be completed by the person providing the induction (Inductor).
Where additional training is required e.g. fire awareness, the inductor must make arrangements at the time of the induction with trained trainers to provide this additional training. A record must be made of the planned training date and the assigned trainer with whom the training has been agreed and the trainer must sign this form to verify that they have committed to the training.
Fire Safety
(Describe the sound of the fire alarm e.g. intermittent or continuous, whether it is one or two stage. Inform what day / time fire alarm is tested. Show the escape routes and walk through to the assembly point particularly if route is complex (if feasible). Show the location of fire call points, fire extinguishers, fire blankets, smoking areas. Ensure the emergency telephone number is known. Communicate any special measures specific to the premises e.g. controls on hot work).
