Power Standards:

·  Increase proficiency in basic skills as reading, speaking, critical thinking skills such as analyzing and reasoning, and interpersonal skills such as listening and cooperating.

·  Provide a hands-on experience outside of classroom from which students can learn and about law, society, and themselves.

·  Provide the opportunity to interaction with positive role models in the legal community.

·  Understand the role of the courts and of the law in protecting the rights of U.S. citizens.

·  Understand the role of due process in the protection of individuals.

·  Understand how the rights of citizens have been augmented by case law decisions.

·  Understand how the Bill of Rights offers protection of individual rights and how rights are limited for the benefit of the common good.
