Pennsylvania Conference for Women Announces Arianna Huffington as 2012 Keynote Speaker

Huffington joins esteemed lineup for state’s largest annual conference for women

Philadelphia, PA, May 21, 2012– Arianna Huffington, one of TIME magazine’s 100 most influential people in 2011 andpresident of the Pulitzer Prize winning Huffington Post Media Group, will be a keynote speaker at the 9th Annual Pennsylvania Conference for Women. Huffington joins severaldistinguished women who have signed on to keynote this year’s event including Vera Bradley co-founder Barbara Bradley Baekgaard and Women For Hire founder and CEO Tory Johnson.

Themed ‘Imagine,’ the Conference invites women from across the state to convene for a full day of networking, professional development and personal growth. The Conference, which is the largest of its kind in the state, will be held at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia on October 2, 2012.

In May 2005, Arianna Huffington launched The Huffington Post, a news and blog site that quickly became one of the most widely read. In 2006, and again in 2011, she was named to the TIME 100, TIME magazine's list of the world’s 100 most influential people. Huffington has also written countless titles including the most recent, “Third World America.” She also serves on several boards that promote community solutions to social problems, including A Place Called Home, which works with at-risk children in South Central Los Angeles. Huffington also serves on the board of EL PAÍS and the Committee to Protect Journalists.
