FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1. What are the dates?

Bookings open on Monday 28 August 2017. All bookings are to be made online and all payments are to be made up front.

The program will run 10-13 October 2017

Registrations close 29 September 2017

2. What ages is it suitable for?

On Stage is suitable for children aged 8 – 16 with classes for specific age ranges within those ages.

3. What is the schedule of classes?

Classes will run from 8:45am – 4pm each day.

4. How much does it cost?

The program costs $90 for one day workshops or $175 for the 2 day masterclass and

$250 for the 3 day masterclasses

5. What do participants need to wear?

Stretch pants, tights or shorts are to be worn at all times accompanied by a top that enables easy movement. Participants can wear casual clothes over their movement garments to and from workshops. Please ensure a name is written on the tag of garments worn to classes.

On Stage T-shirts are available for purchase via the online booking process. If participants took part in the previous January school holidays program and still have their T-shirt from that program, they are welcome to wear that again.

T-shirts are not mandatory however we encourage participants to purchase and wear them as it helps with identification in and around the Festival Centre. They are also a great keepsake for participants to take away with them.

6. Do participants require dance shoes for the dance classes?

Participants are not required to have any specific dance shoes and classes will operate with bare feet. Jazz shoes or sneakers are permitted if owned.

7. Do I need to supply food for my participant?

Participants are required to bring a supplied recess and lunch. Please pack a named water bottle.

There are strictly no products containing nuts allowed. Please also do not supply money for food to be purchased.

8. Where do I drop my children off and collect each day?

Parents/guardians are expected to drop off and pick up participants from a designated collection point within the Adelaide Festival Centre or Her Majesty’s Theatre which will be specified in the information pack.

Parking around the Adelaide Festival Centre is limited and the redevelopment will be in place, however, we will endeavour to make the drop off and pick up process as easy as possible. Parents must sign participants in at drop off and sign them out at pick up. (Due to redevelopment works there will be no guaranteed pre-arranged kiss and drop access)

The Adelaide train station is within walking distance of the Adelaide Festival Centre. No participant will be released without sign-off by a parent/guardian unless the parent/guardian specifies on the enrolment form that the child may leave unsupervised (children 15 years and over only).

9. If I am late to collect, who do I contact?

Parents/guardians of participants being picked up will be charged $1.00 per minute for late pick up without prior arrangement or notification, so please do contact us immediately.

10. Can I watch any of the classes?

Parents/guardians are not permitted in workshop/rehearsal venues during classes.

11. Is my child allowed to keep their mobile phone with them should they need to contact me (or vice versa?)

Mobile phones are permitted but are to be kept in participants bags until break time or if there is an emergency. Electronic devices and expensive personal belongings are not recommended and are at your own risk.
