The Role

This role is vital for supporting the busy and vibrant atmosphere of our Reception area including services such as Good Life Gym clients and Dental patients.

Key Tasks

·  Greet and provide directions to clients arriving at reception areas;

·  Support HAT in preparing letters, brochures, pamphlets and other tasks as needed;

·  General administrative duties which support reception, including:

o  Assisting with mailing and letters

o  Preparing client information packs

o  Sorting slips for invoicing

o  Photocopying and laminating documents

o  Assist with scanning and archiving for client records as required

·  Ensure the reception area resources are restocked and updated, including:

o  Pamphlets

o  Brochures

o  Posters

Reporting & Recording:

·  Record and report information if required.

·  Participate in evaluation activities related to the program if required.

Occupational Health and Safety:

·  Follow and promote safe work practices, procedures and instructions as per Carrington Health OHS for staff.

·  Report all hazards or incidents that cause or may cause harm;

·  Undertake required training in fire and emergency evacuation procedures as required by Carrington Health.

Organisation:

·  Participate in meetings and activities that contribute to the ongoing improvement of the program, team or CH only if negotiated.

Skills and Experience

Qualifications Skills & Experience

·  Relevant community work or employment experience.

·  Mandarin and Cantonese speakers are highly desirable.

·  Farsi speakers are desirable.

Generic skills

·  Excellent communication, interpersonal and team work skills, ability to establish relationships with clients and community members involved in the program.

·  Capacity to follow guidelines and give feedback and ideas.

·  Ability to be flexible.

·  Computer literacy and the ability to use photocopiers etc.

Police Records Check

·  Police Checks are required for all volunteer roles at Carrington Health.

·  A volunteer applicant will not automatically be disqualified on the basis of having a negative police record. Consideration will be given to the relevance and timing of the offence. The results of police records checks and Working with Children Checks are treated in the strictest confidence.

Commitment and Hours

·  One day per week (Monday, Wednesday or Friday)

·  Ideally available from 8.30am – 12:30pm

·  8.30am – 10.00am is focused on greeting clients; 10:00am – 12:30pm is focused on administration support.

Training Provided

·  Carrington Health volunteer induction with Volunteer Manager

·  Role specific orientation with supervisor and Program Managers
