Technology Skills Integration Professional Development
Objective: For every student grades 3 through 11 to have regular, ongoing, and engaging experience with the technology skills needed in order to be prepared for PARCC.
1. How many times will students have exposure to PARCC Technology Skills between November and March?
Elementary School / Grades 3-5 students: 14 or more times- English Language Arts: 5-9 times
- Mathematics: 5-9 times
- Science and Social Studies: 4-8 times
Middle School / Grades 6-8 students: 14 or more times
- English Language Arts: 5-9 times
- Mathematics: 5-9 times
- Science and Social Studies: 4-8 times
High School / Grades 9-11 students: 18 or more times
- English Language Arts: 5-9 times
- Mathematics: 5-9 times
- Science: 4-8 times
- Social Studies: 4-8 times / Grade 12 students: 16 or more times
- English Language Arts: 4-8 times
- Mathematics: 4-8 times

2. How often will teachers receive support?
- Teachers will receive initial professional development on November 13, 2014. A checklist is being collected from each teacher to determine what ongoing support is needed during the months of November through March.
- Computer teachers will provide small group and individualized technology skill development support.
- Computer teachers will receive ongoing professional development throughout the course of the year to help them in leading the work of technology integration with their colleagues
- As a result of this “train the trainer” model with computer teachers, additional training will be provided during the throughout the remainder of the school year.
