Job Description:
1) PR — Overall (Strategy/Budgeting/Execution)
Lead the development of the annual PR strategy and budget creation for each brand within the CLI portfolio. Be responsible for the execution of the strategy throughout the year and for bringing in all deliverables on time and on budget.
2) PR — Licensee Updates
As part of CLI's on-going efforts to add value to our licensing partners, compile, format and distribute a PR update to all licensees of the brands within the CLI portfolio. The frequency of this update communication should be somewhat determined by the amount of new PR, but every effort should be made to distribute this on at least a quarterly basis.
3) PR — Product
Assist the Director of Product in the development and execution of the seasonal PR — Product strategy for each brand within the CLI portfolio. This involves the product that will be utilized by CLI and our outside PR partners for seeding, events and media outreach throughout the year. This responsibility includes helping to develop a point of view on product needs, a budget, a timeline and helping, where needed, the creation, procurement and distribution of the product.
4) Brand Copy Creation
Lead the creation of copy for all brands within the CLI portfolio. In some cases, this will involve directing, editing and approving the work created by outside agencies. In some cases it will involve the actual creation of original, brand right, accurate, grammatically correct, AP style appropriate copy for CLI brands. Examples of writing that may be needed include press releases, copy for brand websites, copy for social media sites, strategic planning copy and copy needed for numerous other brand marketing initiatives.
5) Events — Overall (Strategy/Budgeting/Execution)
Lead the development of the annual event strategy for each brand within the CLI portfolio. This includes the creation of the associated budgets and timelines, the management of event partners and the responsibility for the final execution and deliverables for all events.
6) Cause — Overall (Strategy/Budgeting/Execution)
Lead the development of the annual Cause strategy and budget creation for each brand within the CLI portfolio. Be responsible for the execution of the strategy throughout the year and for bringing in all deliverables on time and on budget.
7) Brand Photoshoot Production
Lead the Collective Licensing aspect of the production of our brand photoshoots. This will be a highly collaborative role requiring close work with Collective's creative director, the photographer's production company and the rest of the brand marketing team. This will primarily involve building and managing a CLI timeline for the photoshoot, managing CLI logistics (T&E, athletes, sample procurement), communication with the photographer's producer and leading weekly status meetings.
8) Presentations
Prepare and give presentations regarding a brand's PR, promotion, entertainment and cause marketing strategies and tactics. Audiences may include Collective management, licensees, retailers or media outlets.
9) Strategic Projects
Be willing to, and show the capacity for, taking on strategic projects from time to time. Specifically, this means showing the ability to: a) do self-directed market research to understand the conditions surrounding the opportunity, b) to form clear conclusions about the market, c) the ability to develop unique recommendations for addressing the opportunities and d) to create a present these thoughts in a structured format.
10) Travel
Be willing and able to travel both domestically and internationally during the year for licensee meetings, trade shows, consumer/market trending trips, etc.
Job Qualifications:
* 3 to 5 years experience, ideally within an ad agency setting
* Ability to manage multiple brands
* Strong writing skills, particularly in drafting press releases
* Experience with youth consumers
