BES is one of the largest elementary schools in HaywoodCounty, and in order to accommodate the growing community it serves, a new campus was built and classes began in the Fall of 2007.

BES was designated a “School of Excellence, High Growth” on North Carolina’s ABC’s Program and a 2012 Nat’l/State Title 1 Distinguished School for Sustained Student Growth.
