Chennimalai, a village situated in Perundurai Taluk of Erode District in Tamilnadu is not only a pilgrim Centre but also famous in and out of this Country for its “HANDLOOM PRODUCTS”.
Object :
In order to enhance the Socio-Economic status of the poor loomless Handloom Weavers, by providing continuous employment and fair wages, the Chennimalai Industrial Weavers Co-op Society was organized under the Cooperative Sector.

1427 Members are now Participating in this Scheme. Nominess of 21
deceased members are getting each Rs. 350.00 per month as Family pension.
iii. Tamilnadu Co.op Handloom Weavers Old Age Pension SCHEME:
135 Members are getting each Rs. 200.00 per month as old age pension.
iv. Medical AID:
In order to provide Medical aid to the Members and their Families, two
Primary Health Centers have been constructed. A qualified Doctor is
visiting the P.H.C every day and provides free medical treatment. Medicine
also is supplied free of cost.

19. FAMILY PLANING SCHEME INCENTIVE:
Our Society is granting a sum of Rs. 150.00 for every members
having not more than two living children and who or whose spouse
undergo medical termination of pregnancy.
20. HOLIDAY WAGES:
All members of this Society are paid Holiday wages for the 9
National and festival Holidays in a year, based on the Average per day
wages earned during the previous one month period.

22. JUTE H.D.C:
Under this scheme a sum of Rs. 8.52 Lakhs has been received from Govt.
40 Looms have been installed, 60 members have been trained in Jute Weaving.
Because of very poor market for Jute Blended goods, now Cotton Varieties are
produced in these looms.
23. WEAVER NAGAR:
228 Houses were allotted to our society under this Scheme. State
Government has given Rs.7,000/- and Central Government has given
Rs.18,000/- totally Rs.25,000/- has been given as Government subsidy for
each house.

25. FUTURE EXPANSION PLAN:
We have proposed to increase our production capacity by installing more handlooms which will in turn help the poor loom less handloom weavers to earn more and rise their socioeconomic status.
Out of the 2057 Handlooms, 1605 Handlooms are engaged in the Production of exportable varieties. The exportable varieties produced by these looms are sold through merchant exporters.
Our Society is earnestly making efforts to export handloom goods directly in the future.
