ABSTRACT SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

To submit an abstract for consideration please follow the instructions below.

Saved submission name

Please save and send your submission in the following format: AHC2011_Surname_A1. If you are submitting more than one abstract please allocate according A2, A3, etc.

Font

All information on the Abstract Submission Form must be typed in Arial 12 point.

Abstract Form

An electronic copy of the Abstract Submission Form can be downloaded from the conference website.

Presenter Information

Personal details of the person presenting the paper must be completed. The presenter must register for the conference. All presenting authors must register and pay to attend the Conference. All authors must attend at least the full day of their presentation and preferably the full Conference.

Title

To be typed in CAPITALS.

Author(s)

To be typed with family name (in capitals) first, followed by given name(s). If there is more than one author, the names are to be separated by a semi-colon. The name of the presenting author is to be listed first.

Text Layout

The text of the abstract must be typed in Arial 12 point, 1.5 lines spacing, in the space provided on the Abstract Form. It should not exceed 250 words.

Oral Presentations and Workshops

The following resources will be available for oral presentations and workshops: laptop with MS PowerPoint software, data projector and screen, whiteboard, laser pointer. If a film slide, DVD or video presentation is proposed, this must be specified on the Abstract Form. Videos must be VHS compatible.

Poster Presentations

Poster presentations will be displayed in a dedicated section of the conference area. Individual poster sizes must not exceed A2 in size.

Abstract Submissions

Abstracts are to be submitted by email on the electronic form available on the website. Handwritten abstracts will not be accepted.

Deadline for Submission

The deadline for submitting an abstract isMonday 28 March 2011.

Acceptance of Abstract

Abstracts that fulfil the above requirements will be considered. Due consideration will be given to originality and quality. Receipt of abstracts will be acknowledged within one week of them being received and successfulapplicants will be notified by
18 April 2011.

Publication

Successful abstracts will be published in the ConferenceProgram handbook.

Conditions

Please Note

  • Abstracts must be the author’s own work.
  • The invitation to submit an abstract does not constitute an offer to pay travel, accommodation or registration costs associated with the Conference. Similarly, no speaker fee is paid to successful participants. All speakers must register for the conference.
  • The Education Steering Committee reserves the right to allocate abstracts into sessions as they see fit in accordance with the overall program objectives.
  • Abstracts that do not include sufficient data may be rejected.
  • Authors of submissions for oral presentation will be notified via email by the beginning of 18 April 2011.
  • If successful, you will be required to confirm your acceptance of the invitation and register to attend the conference (if not already registered).
  • Further information on presentation requirements and preparation of posters will be provided in additional correspondence.
