APPLICATION GUIDELINES
Applications should be written in at least 11 pt Arial font with minimum one-inch margins on all sides and Section 1 should not be longer than 2 pages in length. All applications will be evaluated based on two equally weighted criteria: 1) Project and Research Environment, and 2) Student Excellence. Applications should address each of the sections described below:
- PROJECT & RESESARCH ENVIRONMENT
- Describe the project the student will be working on and their particular role in the project (Language used should be sufficient for non-specialists)
- Describe how the project is relevant to the Hurvitz Brain Sciences Research Program at Sunnybrook (
- Comment on how the project is relevant to clinical problems in health care.
- Describe the research environment. Will the research environment offer a stimulating experience for the student? Related measures to strengthen this case are (i) the number of people in the work environment who can provide assistance and support; (ii) are there multiple problems and projects to provide a breadth of exposure for the student; (iii) the amount of funding available for work in this area by the supervisor; and (iv) the necessary space requirement in proximity to the research supervisor.
