CURRICULUM SUMMARY

Beginners’ Levels

The students at the end of beginners’ level are be able to clearly recognize all the letters of Arabic alphabets, to write them correctly, to be able to identify when and how they are used in the beginning, middle and end of a word. Students are able to understand the basics of the harakat (vowels). They will also memorize some basic surahs. In Islamic Studies, students will have a clear understanding of tawheed, the five pillars of Islam, and learn about some of the prophets
Level -1: Arabic
Identify and Write the 28 letters.
Recognize and Identify the short vowels ( Fatha, Damma, Kasra)
Join the letters into words.
Practice reading and writing the basic words with short vowels.
Memorize some of the vocabulary (assigned by the teacher).

Level -1: Quran

Memorize the first 14 surah.
Al-Fātiĥah , Al-'Ikhlāş , Al-Falaq, An-Nās, Al-Kāfirūn,
An-Naşr, Al-Masad, Quraysh, Al-Mā`ūn, Al-Kawthar,
Al-`Aşr, Al-Humazah, Al-Fīl, Al-Qāri`ah.May be more based each students learning speed

CURRICULUM SUMMARY

LEVEL 2

The students at the end of Level 2 are able to read sentences from the Quran and write simple words when dictated. They will learn some of the basic tajweed rules and apply them to their reading/memorization. They will also continue to memorize surahs from juz 30. In Islamic Studies, they will students will have a clear understanding of tawheed; the five pillars of Islam, and learn about some of the prophets.

Level -2: Arabic

  • Build on what has been learned on the beginning.
  • Identify and apply the rules of letter joining using short vowels, long vowels, shaddah, tanween, Madd, sings.
  • Read full sentence with all rules.
  • Write words from 4 to 6 letters.
  • Memorize some of the vocabulary from the Quran (assign by the teacher).

Level -2: Quran

Memorize Juz Amma or at least 14 souras assigned by the teacher
Start reading quran using limited reading rules

CURRICULUM SUMMARY

Level 3:

The students at the end of Level 3 should be able to read the Quran with good speed and fluency and be able to write fairly well. Also the students should finish juz amma (30th part of the Quran) and have an overall understanding of the meaning of most of suras they have memorized. They will learn basic tajweed rules and apply them in their reading and memorization. In Islamic Studies, they will have a clear understanding of the 7 beliefs of Islam, the proper way to perform prayer, stories of past prophets, and learn biographies of companions. Students will also learn selected hadiths and duas.

Level -3: Arabic

  • Makhaarij/Special Letters (
  • Full mouth Letters, Open & Closed Letters, Ghunna, Madh, Idghaam
  • Ikfha, Idhaar, Rules of Meem, Qalb, Rules of Raa, Laam of Allah
  • Qalqala, Symbols of Waqf, Memorize some of the vocabulary from the Quran
  • Write sentences correctly as dictated by teacher

Level -3: Quran

  • Completion of Juz 30 and Juz Tabarak
