Training Together - “Safe Church” – Safeguarding Children, Young People and Adults at Risk. This training aims to enable members of the laity to develop awareness and understanding of abuse, safeguarding processes and how these relate to your role and responsibilities within the Church in Wales’ Safeguarding policy and procedures.Booking is essential.

Training Together - “Befriending Death? Mapping the Spiritual Dimensions of Loss and Change” with Revd Canon Dr James Woodward. Open to all but particularly aimed at all those engaging in pastoral ministry of any kind. 20th January, 10am-4pm in Llangollen Pavilion. The workshop is being held for men who have who come across the Enneagram through Richard Rohr’s work or through the Men’s Rites of Passage. It is not intended to be exclusively for ‘Initiated’ men, but for men seeking to deeper their own spiritual practice. Details circulated previously.
Welcome to the Diocese Day - We are holding a ‘Welcome to the Diocese’ day at the diocesan office for new clergy and any others within the diocese who would like to attend on January 18th 2017. It will be an all day event and lunch will be included. We would like to encourage all those new in the diocese to attend.If you are available, this is a particularly useful day for all the clergy who are new in post although all are welcome. In this day you will be introduced to all the diocesan office staff and how they can help you in your role or ministry. There will be opportunities to ask questions and gain information about all areas of diocesan life such as training, finance, the Cathedral and help with buildings. On Saturday 21st January at 7.30pm, Ensemble 1677 will present a concert of early music "from Advent to Epiphany" at St Asaph Cathedral. Led by Olivia Hunt (soprano), the ensemble will perform seasonal works from 16th and 17th century Italy, England and France. Admission is £7.50 on the door and refreshments will be served afterwards. 'Following the launch of the LGBTQIA Chaplaincy for the Diocese in September the time has now come to begin our monthly 'Open Table' gatherings (Posters for are available to download The purpose of coming together is so that members of the LGBTQIA community can come and worship in a safe space, we can share our stories, encourage one another in the faith we share and enjoy refreshments together after our worship. Please circulate these posters as widely as you feel able and encourage those who you think would benefit from this opportunity to come together at any one of the venues. Also available to download is a Flier giving a very basic outline of what the Chaplaincy hopes to achieve. Please make copies, place them in your churches or hand them to people who you think might be interested. Lastly if you feel you would like to be more personally involved in the Chaplaincy please contact me, Rev'd Sarah Hildreth-Osborn (01492 640032 / ).
Please see the following message from Tracey White, Funding Officer – “This is to brief you on the latest developments with the Fundraising Regulator. The Regulator is to be funded by a voluntary levy on all charities registered with the Charity Commission that have reported “spend on generating voluntary income” of £100,000 or more (around 2,000 charities), and letters and invoices are now starting to go out to this group. We do not expect any local churches to be included within this, although a Methodist Church has received an invoice (despite their accounts not showing expenditure on generating fundraising income to be anything like that level). If you receive such a letter and invoice, please could you let me or Martyn know. or ”
