REGISTRATION CHECKLIST

Many of you are aware ABC of Iowa receives grant money for apprentices who are registered in the Department of Labor (DOL) through ABC of Iowa. This has allowed ABC of Iowa to lower tuition for the upcoming school year from $940 to $640. The reduced tuition is only for registered apprentices in the DOL that are registered through ABC of Iowa.Audit students are what apprentices are called if they are not registered in the DOL through ABC of Iowa but are attending classes. Tuition for audit students will remain the same as last year which is $940.00.

APPRENTICE FORMS:The documents listed below are REQUIRED for ALLreturning apprentices.

This form needs to be completed by the Employer every year, for each trade in which the company has a registered apprentice.

PAYMENT POLICY

100% of all tuition, books, and registration fees must be paid at the time of registration. Apprentices will not be registered in class until all completed paperwork and payment are received. If there is an outstanding balance for an apprentice, he/she will not be permitted to attend class and any absence will be counted as such and held against the apprentice’s attendance record for that class.

REFUND POLICY

Un-enrolling a student prior to the registration deadline date, you will receive a full tuition refund, upon receipt of an Apprentice Termination Form. After the registration deadline, a 50% tuition refund is possible (if the class is not full) upon receipt of an Apprentice Termination Form. After the class has started no refund will be issued.

If a change occurs before the first day of class with an apprentice’s status from audit to DOL apprentice, we can give a refund for the price difference. Once a student attends the first day of class as an audit student if a status change occurs from audit to DOL apprentice, we can NOT give a refund for the difference.

In either case, there will be no refund for the one-time enrollment fee or issued textbooks.
