Preparing For The Holidays

I am excited about our Fall selling season! It is our very best time of year for selling our beautiful jewelry. The key word here is PREPARATION. It is important to begin your preparation NOW to take full advantage of our Fall selling season.

1. In September, send a letter to past customers and Hostesses announcing the new jewelry and holiday line.
2. Follow up on the "Who Do You Know" sheets and "Wish Lists." Call, Call, Call to fill your calendar!
3. Set dates for Husband/Wife shows, for Couples Shows, for Monday Night Football Widows.
4. Write letters to doctors, business executives, and lawyers about providing them with employee gifts. You'll be happy to gift wrap and deliver! Offer the Gift Certificates!
5. Clean and tag your jewelry to give the greatest selling advantage. When in doubt...Clean it!
6. Home coaching/planning with your Hostess is VERY important and vital to the level of success you achieve.
7. Christmas Themed Show Invitations. Always Mail them for your Hostess!
8. Emphasize Hostess benefits and 1/2 price items. Tell them to buy Christmas gifts for themselves so they can enjoy them during the holidays. Encourage a "cost free" holiday season
by utilizing the free jewelry for gifts!
9. Dress in elegant holiday attire, or simply add red or green to your wardrobe, and see if your Hostess will too.
10. Use a red or green tablecloth. Burgundy or Emerald velveteen is very rich looking. (Red promotes impulse buying.)
11. Ask your Hostess if she would serve holiday refreshments on red or green plates and napkins.
12. Take a bag of Christmas potpourri to simmer at the show. "Christmas scent early"

13. Start using your Christmas decorations beginning Sept. 1st Ask your hostess to put some Christmas decorations out too. Turn down the air conditioning so you can put your guests in
the "winter" mood.
14. Christmas ornaments are great giveaways.
15. Use Shopping Days poster as an ice breaker. It’s a great visual to keep Christmas on their mind.

16. Use red and green: "Wish lists", "Who Do You Know", folders, name tags with Christmas stickers, certificates.
17. Place Christmas stickers on order forms and on your calendar on available dates for shows.
18. Mail a copy of "Wish Lists" to gift givers.
19. Mail out holiday brochures when they become available.
20. Model a variety of styles at the show.
-- Pre-select what is modeled.
-- 90% of your sales are a result of what you model
-- Show dramatic, classic, and romantic looks.
-- Show gold metallic scarves with pins.
-- Give advantages of wearing "types" of jewelry.
-- Show the versatility of fashion jewelry
-- Advertise a "Holiday Special"
-- Offer a discount on Sets or Ensembles
-- Cut pictures out of magazines to add credibility to your fashion tips.
-- Model about $150 in jewelry on your Hostess to show the amount an average Hostess earns for FREE.
21. Have a Christmas OPEN HOUSE or Mystery show.
22. Use creative Christmas booking activities.
- Boxes wrapped in holiday paper.
- Christmas tree with certificates or tennis bracelets on it.
- Stocking with peppermints - "You are MINT to be a Hostess"
- Christmas balls - "We're going to have a ball at your show"

23. Peppermints at the pay station with a sign, ""You are MINT to be a Hostess"
24. Use a Christmas pen, such as a candy cane.
25. Put a list of items together that are the "Top Gift Items" $25 or less.
27. Ask your Hostess to play Holiday music, or bring a cassette tape with you.
26. Sell off of your table when the deadline for guaranteed delivery closes in. Continue doing shows through December, offering "cash and carry". Then the week between Christmas and New Year's you have time to replace your jewelry sold off the table with fresh new jewelry to begin a New Year!
