With new hire employees the 90-day evaluation is automatically created by the OPES on the employees 60th day of employment. When this happens, the manager notification email is sent to the manager so they know the evaluation is created and that it is due in thirty days. Substitutes are not copied on these emails, and may not see in the ‘Employee Documents’ window. If the manager has executed the evaluation substitutes will not have access to it if the manager did not add them on it as a substitute. If the manager wants a substitute on the evaluation they must add them while the evaluation status is ‘In Preparation’.

When an employee’s status changes from part time to full time or temporary to permanent, Human Resources manually creates a 90 day evaluation on or about their transition date. The manager notification email is also manually created with a delayed delivery date set to deliver on the employee’s sixtieth day of employment.

If the probationary period is extended, the manager/substitute must manually create a second 90 day evaluation using the following dates: Validity Period = review dateTo = the180th day of employment. The period is counted day by day, not counted from month to month. A reminder notification will not be sent for extended evaluations by the system and you will need to note the due date on your calendar.

Departmental transfers do not have a 90-day probationary period; and a 90 day evaluation is not generated, nor required.
