Key duties and responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement programme of fundraising events and activities, including:
- Plan and run one-off fundraising events and activities, working closely with volunteer fundraising committee, to generate income throughout the year e.g. sponsorship events, craft fairs, paid entry performances.
- Source grant-making bodies and trust funds to which The Open Door can apply for financial support for its core activities and any new projects
- Complete new funding applications and end of grant reports, providing any evidence required
- Develop new and expand existing programmes for regular giving (e.g. 200 Club, organisation memberships) to increase the number of financial supporters of The Open Door
- Develop a programme to encourage legacy giving to The Open Door
- Explore new funding streams in the community and online to increase income for The Open Door
- Make use of the community café, window space and rooms for hire to carry out fundraising activities throughout the year
2. Public Relations
- Develop a network of contacts in the community and establish partnerships to raise the profile of The Open Door
- Manage The Open Door data base of contacts, observing data protection regulations
- Maintain The Open Door website and ensure all the information is up to date
- Keep all social media active and up to date
3. Deputise for the manager/ day care manager as required
4. Undertake any training required to develop skills and fulfil the role

The post holder will work 22.5 hours per week, usually 7.5 hours per day over three days Monday to Friday during office hours. The role will include occasional evening and weekend working to deliver fundraising events, for which time off in lieu will be given.
Salary: £22,000 pro rata (£13,200 per anumm)
Term: 12 month contract, subject to extension, depending on success in role and available funding.
