Workshop Description: This workshop will help you build the “KASH” (knowledge, attitude, skills, and habits) you need to keep your stressors and emotions in check when working with highly emotional youth. Relationship building skills as well as cultural diversity issues are also included in the training.
About the Speaker:Brenda White Wright is a motivational and inspirational speaker. She has worked with high risk students, educators, parents, and community leaders in the development of successful educational programs and initiatives for over 35 years. Mrs. Wright is a skilled communicator who captivates audiences with her sense of humor, energy, and contagious enthusiasm. Recently retired as director of a youth development agency, she currently speaks and presents seminars, workshops, and keynote addresses across the country. She visited the former Soviet Union to share her expertise in working with at-risk youth. Currently, Mrs. Wright is President and CEO of The Wright Approach, providing life improvement strategies for personal and professional success for the young as well as the young at heart.

- To identify the stressors and emotions that can put you “over the edge”
- To discover techniques that help you remain in control of your emotions
- To understand the relevance of cultural competence when working with children
- To learn new ways to build better personal and professional relationships

Cost:
The cost for workshop registration received before March 3,2006 is $89. On or after March 3, 2006 the cost is $105. Cancellations in writing will be accepted with a full refund untilMarch 3, 2006. A $25 cancellation fee will be charged after that date. To make the workshop affordable and local, lunch will be on your own.
Location: The one day workshop will be held at the NormanRegionalHospitalEducationCenter, located at 901 N. Porter, Norman, OK. Maps will be sent with registration acknowledgement letters.
College Credit: A one hour undergraduate or graduate level college credit option for participates is pending approval. You must complete the admission process for OU priorto the workshop. If you are interested in receiving college credit for the workshop, please mark the appropriate box on the registration form or call (405)325-6034. Tuition charges are in addition to the non-credit program fee.
CEU’s: This workshop is designed to offer continuing education credits for many professionals as part of the workshop fee. A certificate of attendance will be issued at the end of the workshop showing the six (6) hours of class instruction.
