The position reports to the Lead Technical Consultant

Job Responsibilities

Assist the Lead Technical Consultant to produce new and updated CIPHE Technical Guides. Obtain written contributions from authors; arrange peer reviews; proof read and edit

Assist the Lead Technical Consultant in projects to progress the technical education of engineers e.g. Continuing Professional Development (CPD) resources

Take direct responsibility for specific technical projects

Build and maintain effective relationships with Industrial Associates (IA) to secure their technical input to the Technical Working Groups, educational initiatives, live workshops etc.

Obtain articles from Industrial Associates for publication; write technical articles

Organise CIPHE technical courses, seminars, and webinars

Respond to Technical Enquiries from members

Support and positively leveragethe Technical Working Groups (TWGs) e.g. obtain essential information, identify sources of new expert assistance, provide organisational help

Raise the status of CIPHE in the plumbing and heating engineering sector

  • Able to write/edit to a high standard
  • Able todevelop technical education courses
  • Skills to have impact in a members-driven institution
  • Strong IT Skills: Word, Excel, PowerPoint; Outlook
  • Good presentation skills
  • Attention to detail and quality; well organised, able to prioritise; multi-task focus
  • Some knowledge of the plumbing and heating industries

Experience and Qualifications

  • Educated to NVQ level 3 or equivalent in a technical/engineering field; degree leveleducation would be preferable
  • Some experience of applying engineering theory to solve practical technical challenges
  • Record of achieving one’s goals through effective problemsolving
  • Preferablysome exposure to a members’ driven organisation
