School bullyingis a type ofbullyingthat occurs in an educational setting.Bullyingcan be physical, sexual, verbal or emotional in nature.School bullyingmay be more specifically characterized by: An intention to harm: intention suggests that the harm caused bybullyingis deliberate, not accidental.

Bullyingis unwanted, aggressive behavior among school aged children that involves a real or perceived power imbalance. The behavior is repeated, or has the potential to be repeated, over time.

PROHIBITED ACTS

The anti-bullying policy shall prohibit:

  1. Bullying at the following:
  1. School premises
  2. Property immediately adjacent to school premises.
  3. School related activities, functions or programs whether on or off school premises.
  1. Bullying through the technology devices or other forms of media owned, leased or used by the school.
  1. Bullying at the location, activity programs that is not school related in through the use of technology that is owned, leased or used by the school.
  1. Retaliation against a person who reports bullying who provides information during an investigation of bullying, or who a witness is to or have reliable information about bullying.

PREVENTION PROGRAMS

  1. Provide positive school climate and environment conducive to the attainment of learning objectives, the development of healthy relationship in understanding of and respect for the individual differences.
  2. Monthly assessment and monitoring of the nature, perception and extent of bullying behaviors and attitudes of pupils.
  3. Quarterly review and enhancement of pupils and personnel’s Code of Conduct in relation to bullying.
  4. Conduct activities for pupils and school personnel on how to recognize and respond to bullying.
  5. Coordinate with LGU, Barangay Council for the protection of children against bullying.

INTERVENTION PROGRAM

  2. Education and other activities that will enhance the psychological, emotional, psycho-social, well-being of both the victim and the bully.
  3. Sports activities
  4. Give formative and corrective measures rather than punishment.
  5. Provide opportunities to enhance/ practice pro-social behavior.

MECHANISM

  2. Adopt and implement a child protection policy.
  3. School protection policy shall be posted on the bulletin board.
  4. Advocate pupils on the dynamics of bullying.
  5. Strictly implement “NO BULLY POLICY”.
  6. Ensures the safety of the victim of the bullying, the bully and by-stander and determine the pupils’ need for protection as well as their rights.
  7. Accomplish the appropriate/prescribe form when there is a victim of bullying.
  8. Coordinate with proper authority/ offices and other agencies or instrumentalities for appropriate assistance and intervention as required by the circumstances.

TEACHER AND OTHER SCHOOL PERSONNEL

1. Participate and cooperate in all interventions, preventions and other measures related to bullying implemented by the school.

2. Report to school proper authorities any incident of bullying.

PUPILS

1. Participate and cooperate in all interventions, preventions and other related measures to bullying implemented by the school.

2. Refrain or avoid from doing any act of bullying.

3. Intervene to protect the victim that will not put him at risk.

4. Report to school authorities any incidents of bullying.

PROCEDURES

  1. Immediate responses:
  • Determining and addressing immediate safety needs of the victim/s.
  • Ensuring medical assistance for the victims.
  • Secure medical certificate in cases of physical injuries.

Bring the bully to the guidance office or to the designated school personnel for immediate assistance.

Report the incident of bullying incidents to the proper authorities.
