AHOUSE RESOLUTION

TO CONGRATULATE ALGERNONG ALLEN OF JASPER COUNTY ON THE OCCASION OF HIS NINETYTHIRD BIRTHDAY, AND TO EXTEND HIM JOYOUS BIRTHDAY GREETINGS WITH WISHES FOR MANY YEARS OF CONTINUED HEALTH AND HAPPINESS.

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives are delighted to learn that Algernong Allen of Jasper County recently celebratedhisninetythird birthday on March 16, 2012; and

Whereas, born on March 16, 1919, in the early part of the twentieth century, he has witnessed nearly all the remarkablesocial changes, technological advancements, and international developments that have spanned the globe from that time into the second decade of the twentyfirst century; and

Whereas, the son of the late John and Panella Allen, he was born in Grays and continues to reside in Jasper County in Gillisonville, nestled among the mosshung oaks of the Lowcountry; and

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives are pleased to honor this son of South Carolina at the celebration of his ninetythird birthday and join with his family and friends in congratulating him on reaching this extraordinary milestone. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

Thatthe members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, congratulate Algernong Allen of Jasper County on the occasion of hisninetythird birthday, and extend him joyous birthday greetingswith wishes formany years of continued health and happiness.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be provided to Algernong Allen.
