session, inviting discussion and identifying opportunities to become more involved in future activities.
About the Program: The basic principles of Mission Assurance are not new. Mission Assurance reaches across the enterprise, supply base, business partners and customer base to enable customer/mission success. Mission Assurance is an engineering process to identify and mitigate design, production, test and field supportdeficiencies that could affect mission success. It includes the disciplined application of system engineering, riskmanagement, quality and management principles to achieve missionsuccess. Key is an independent technical assessment as a cornerstone throughout the entire design, development, testing, deployment and operations process. Mission assurance is a “cradle-to-grave” process. Sounds easy…… but how do you make it happen? What are the tools and methods that aid in this journey? How do you build Mission Assurance capability and focus?
About the Speaker: Elizabeth (Liz) Iversen is Sector Vice President, Mission Assurance, for Northrop Grumman Electronic Systems. Liz is a member of the Sector Policy Council and has executive responsibility for quality assurance, risk management, independent reviews and assessments, and such process improvement initiatives as Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing. Liz has over 20 years’ experience with commercial and defense companies in operations management, business strategy development and planning, strategic sourcing and process excellence implementation. She has held positions of great responsibility with Fortune 500 companies such as Hughes Aircraft Company, TRW, GE Capital, Gateway Company and most recently, she has served as Vice President of Worldwide Process Excellence for Johnson & Johnson.
Ms. Iversen received a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, business management and industrial psychology from IowaStateUniversity. She has completed a number of executive development programs, including the Strategic Planning and New Product Development Forum at HarvardUniversity, the Human Resources Executive Development Program at CornellUniversity and the Women’s Executive Leadership Program at Smith-Tuck.
