PRESSNOTE / FATTY

Fatty is a new, large, wide and soft Eilersen sofa

15 yearsago, Jens Juul Eilersen, designed the Baseline couch. With itsdepth, broad armrests and excellent comfort, it becameone of Eilersen'sgreatest successes. Jens Juul Eilersen has returned to his drawingtable and reinterpreted the sofa whichgained the Eilersen brand international recognition. Fattywillbelaunched at the Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair in February and will go on sale in Scandinavia, Europe, America and Asia in April.

New ideasare generally bornwhen Jens Juul Eilersen opens his sketchpad. For example, the Baseline wasdesigned to inaugurateEilersen's new factory and productionfacilities. And Fattywillcelebrate the opening of Eilersen'sown showroom in New York.

The sofa has a wide, low back and armrests and a deepseat. The combination of elegant and practical features makes the Fattysuitable for placing in the middle of a room, like a sculpture. The wide armrest is a practical place for a tray, a book or simply as a comfortableheadrest or a supportive armrest.

Culmination of furnitureknowledge

The Fatty is a culmination of Jens Juul Eilersen'sknowledge of how a couch must bedimensioned and constructed. What dimensions arerequired to make it appear elegant despiteitssize and itsmanycushions, and how to build a base of solid Scandinavian pine, upholstered with a sandwich construction of stable foam of varyingstiffness so that it does not loseitsshape or comfort. Just likeEilersen'sother sofas, the Fattycomes with removable covers so thatcanalwaysbereplacedshouldyoudesire a differenttextile.

Jens Juul Eilersen'sconcept for the Fattywas to provide a shell and leave it up to the individual to decide the final result. Whether it consists of symmetrical or asymmetricalmodules is entirely up to eachindividual.
