Contemporary Dance Workshop

summer intensive

Kansas City Contemporary Dance Workshop is a summer intensive program focused on developing and challenging advanced dancers (ages 12 and up) through rigorous dance technique classes and dance related lectures, including anatomy, injury prevention, and dance history. The workshop also allows participants to work with choreographers who are very active in today’s dance world; choreographers who have worked throughout the U.S. and beyond world in dance companies, industrials, and other dance venues. This year, we will be adding another component: the teachers will be choreographing a piece, which will feature every participant and will be showcased at the performance on Thursday. As well, we will be holding a mini-workshop for younger dancers (ages 8-12), which will be held after the performance.
