YOUTH & FAMILY WORKER

Early Intervention and Placement Prevention Program (EIPP)

SUTHERLAND

Part-Time 21 hours per week

(possible extension to 35 hours per week)

Sutherland Shire Family Services Incorporated have an exciting opportunity for an Adolescent & Family Worker. The Adolescent & Family Worker role is required to meet the needs of young people (12- 18 years) and their families living in the Sutherland Shire.

The Early Intervention & Placement Prevention (EIPP) program provides appropriately targeted child, youth and family support services to reduce the likelihood of children and young people entering or remaining in the child protection and out-of-home care systems.

As a Adolescent & Family Worker you will provide high quality case management to support families and young people. You will utilise our case management tools to assess family strengths and needs, link them to local support networks , as well as participating in case conferences, family reviews, home visiting and parenting programs.

Essential Criteria:

✓Minimum of 3 years relevant tertiary qualification and/or equivalent experience working with children, young people and their families;

✓Ability to work from a holistic, child/youth -centred, family focused and strengths based approach;

✓Demonstrate understanding of child protection and related issues;

✓Demonstrate understanding of adolescent development;

✓High level of written and verbal communication;

✓Excellent relationship building skills and experience working with diverse communities to assess and support the development of community connectedness and resilience;

✓Hold a current NSW Drivers Licence

✓Working with Children’s Check

Desirable:

✓Ability to address mother/child attachment and work from a trauma informed practice;

✓Experience delivering attachment based/parenting and youth programs

Salary accordance with SCHADS Level 4 depending on qualifications and experience. We offer ongoing professional development, a supportive working environment and you will also benefit from a $15,900 tax free salary component.
