Dear new second grader,

We are so excited to have you in our class next year. We are going to have a great time and learn lots of new things. There are a few things you should do over the summer to get ready for second grade.

Practice your addition and subtraction facts to 20. You should know most of them in your head. Here are some fun websites you could try.

Read at least 3 times per week. You can read picture books, chapter books, magazines or some of the stories you will find on these websites.

Keep a journal. Write down all the fun and exciting things you do over the summer. I would love to read about your adventures in September. You can also practice your writing online at these websites.

See you in September,

Miss Del Rocco
