Abstract

This repot presents a detailed SWOT Analysis of Jim’s Gym, which is a health club and fitness facility situated in Vancouver Island in British Columbia. This is one of the popular and modest gym clubs available in the area. The SWOT analysis of this Gym is discussed to explore its positive and negative aspects and how the gym can grab market opportunities.

SWOT Analysis: Jim’s Gym

Strengths: One of the biggest strengths of Jim’s Gym is the qualified and experienced staffs, they ask questions through concern for the health of their clients, and there was an assistant who provide quality services to the customers. In Jim’s Gym, all the customers has access the quality equipment’s and cardio stations. The availability of innovative features and extraordinary services influences the reputation of the gym (Jim’s Gym, 2015). The broad spectrum of fitness level available in Jim’s Gym is one of the attractive features and the staff has concern, and shows it by checking in regular to make sure the equipment is being used to the customer’s benefit and properly used for the safety of the client, which increases its value in the market. Further, the staff is always checking to make sure the client has the proper equipment to accommodate the need of the clients need, it seems that this is an ideal place of all types of customers, who are fitness conscious, reduce weight, build their body and muscles, improve body balance and minimize their problems of cardiovascular diseases (Jim’s Gym, 2015).

Weaknesses: One of the weakest point of Jim Gym is that it is not very much popular brand. In addition, there is not a physician, who can guide individuals to focus on a particular area of health and physic and improve their knowledge about their body. The machineries and staff are good to assist the customer for their exercises, but the unavailability of a health provider or someone that has expertise in the medical field, experts in the medical field is an issue for the growth of a gym for the long term.

Opportunities: Changing scenario and increasing concern of individuals for their health is one of the main opportunities for this Gym. All type of customer groups and segments can be attracted by Jim’s Gym because children and adults are conscious for obesity, older people are conscious for body pain and the youngster are enthusiastic to build their body and six pack abs (Emanuelson, 2012). Women prefer to go to the gym for exercise and to be fit in their daily life. All these are opportunities for the Gym to attract a wide number of people.

Threats: IN the society, there are several competitors available, and consumers can find Gym centers and fitness clubs in each society. It is a threat to long-term success of Jim’s Gym (Emanuelson, 2012).

Conclusion

Thus, based on the above discussion, it can be concluded that Jim’s Gym has best facilities for the customers to maintain a healthy life. The company has different classes and programs for the different types of customers such as men, women, children, teenagers and to influence their behavior towards exercise. The Gym management should work to provide professional training to the individual in the field of health. The company should focus on the broad spectrum of training regarding health and fitness to create competitive advantage and utilize all the available market opportunities for long term success and sustainability.
