NATIONAL POETRY DAY Thursday 8 October 2015

Poems about LIGHT

INDIVIDUAL SCHOOL ORDER FORM FOR POEM CARDS

This year marks the 21st birthday of National Poetry Day in Scotland. Central to the celebrations are the Scottish Poetry Library’s popular poem cards, featuring poetry in English, Scots, Gaelic and Polish. The theme for 2015 is ‘Light’, in honour of the UN International Year of Light. A selection of 8 poems have been specially selected to reflect this theme.
Our poem card designs this year are particularly creative – you can get a sneak preview at http://www.scottishpoetrylibrary.org.uk/connect/national-poetry-day. Additional online learning resources will be available from Friday 12 June.
We hope that you will choose to celebrate National Poetry Day with us this year and look forward to receiving your order. Please complete and return the order form overleaf by Friday 28 August.

HOW MANY POEM CARDS CAN I ORDER?

Each bundle contains 80 poem cards (same as in 2014). You can order up to 12 bundles:

·  PRIMARY BUNDLES: these contain 20 copies each of 4 cards for younger readers, P3-7 and/or

·  SECONDARY BUNDLES: these contain 10 copies each of 4 cards for younger readers

+ 10 copies each of 4 cards for more advanced readers

WHAT WILL IT COST?

There is a flat fee for schools poem card orders which helps us to cover distribution costs. We charge £13 per individual school order, even if you get the maximum order of 12 bundles, which equates to 960 cards.

Please note: This charge is towards the cost of distribution only; the cost of commissioning and producing these resources are subsidised by our funder Creative Scotland and our 2015 National Poetry Day partners: the Polish Cultural Institute and the Gaelic Books Council.

WHEN WILL I GET THE POEM CARDS?

School orders will be delivered during September. Cards will be sent to the contact name you give us for deliveries. Please do give us a contact name for deliveries (for a teaching staff member, or admin staff member); this will help avoid packages going astray after delivery.

WHEN WILL I GET THE INVOICE?

Orders received by the end of June 2015 for invoice will be invoiced by the end of August 2015.

Orders received from July-August 2015 for invoice will be invoiced by the end of November 2015.

WHAT EXTRA RESOURCES CAN YOU OFFER?
