Road work on the Hume Motorway, south bound exit ramp at Narellan Road
Starts on Monday 9 September 2013
Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) is planning road work on the Hume Motorway southbound exit ramp to Narellan Road. The work complements improvements planned to upgrade Narellan Road to three lanes in each direction between Camden Valley Way at Narellan and Blaxland Road/Gilchrist Drive at Campbelltown.
Work involves widening and lengthening the exit lane and ramp to provide increased capacity for vehicles to exit the Hume Motorway to access Campbelltown and Narellan, improving road safety.
Starting on Monday 9 September 2013, Roads and Maritime project team will set up a construction site area on the gravel shoulder nearby the Hume Motorway interchange. For more detail please view the map overleaf. Other road work activities planned includes:
· Road widening work including installing drainage.
· Installing new street lighting and in-road traffic monitoring sensors.
· Installing new directional signs along the Hume Motorway and exit ramp.
· Road resurfacing and line marking.
Work will take around four months to complete, weather permitting. To minimise traffic disruptions, work will be carried out predominantly during the night, Sunday to Thursday from 7pm to 5am. Minor work activities are planned during the day, Monday to Friday, from 7am to 6pm and Saturday 8am to 1pm.
Minor delays are expected due to changed traffic conditions. Partial lane closures will be in place during these times to create a safe working area for Roads and Maritime staff and to ensure road user safety. During this work motorists are asked to follow the signs, reduced speed limits and the direction of traffic controllers.
There will be noise associated with this work. Every effort will be made to minimise the impact of noise on residents.
