NTG will partner to develop an educational package that AA could use chapter networks and caregivers. The focus will be on helping family caregivers. Discussions are on-going.
- Brief Group Updates
Group A-
Convened a meeting on Monday, April 20, 2015 at8PMEDSTto discuss the need to focus on several efforts related to ID and dementia family and caregiver support.NTGmemberJadeneRansdell of Florida agreed to take on a leadership position and work conjointly with Mary Hogan to direct the efforts. Discussed how to address needs of differing family caregiver dynamics, creating a booklet for NDSS, working with the Alzheimer’s Association, and how to use social media to promote efforts.
Group G-
Project is currently underway with the expectation that the framework of the standards for community housing and assistance will be presented at the NTG LA Conference in July.
- NDSS update
Will work on caregiver manual; perhaps partner with the Alzheimer’s Association on this
- Discussed possibility of having Steering Committee Meetings every other month and alternate months with Group Meetings. This was received with mixed feelings as it was decided that there needed to be a time when any SC members could attend a monthly meeting and provide input.
- The next Steering Committee Meeting will be Thursday, June 4, 2015 at 8PM EDST.
