Dear Families of Thompson School District Spelling Bee Participants,
Congratulations! Your child has been selected to participate in the 2015 Thompson School District Spelling Bee on Saturday, January 31, 2015, at Thompson Valley High School. We look forward to this fun event and hope you will be able to join us.
Elementary students compete in the morning. These times are located in the left column. Middle school students follow, with their times located in the far right column. Note: The bee schedule is different this year, with overlap of elementary and middle school events. This change has been implemented to streamline the flow and length of the event.
When you arrive at the school, please enter through the main doors on the south side of the building and accompany your child to the table designated for his/her school. The spelling coaches and sponsors will check in your child, at which time you will depart. You are invited to return for the oral rounds. Note: Entertainment will be provided for elementary students during the grading of the written test. During this time, students are supervised by prescreened district employees and volunteers. You will not need to supervise your child during this time as in years past. Middle school students will be released to their parents during the grading of written tests. Lunch will not be provided at the event. Parents and guardians will be responsible for supervision of their children during this time. Please take special caution to note the break and arrival times below.
During oral rounds, all siblings are required to have adult supervision. Students will be released to their parents/guardians immediately following the awards ceremony. Note: ending times for the oral rounds are approximate, as the length of this part of the competition can vary.
