RESEARCH EXPERIENCE:

8/1/2009-current Ambulatory high resolution esophageal manometry with impedance/pH.

·  Working with Ravinder Mittal MD on a study in which I successfully combined high resolution esophageal manometry with impedance/pH monitoring in ambulatory patients. This was presented as a poster of distinction at DDW in 2011. Currently, I am using ambulatory high resolution manometry to investigate the pathophysiology of non-cardiac chest pain.

6/26/2008 / Research Assistant with Lauren Gerson MD
Department of Gastroenterology & Hepatology at Stanford University
Stanford, CA

·  Conducted a study investigating the effects of sedation during implantation of wireless pH probes on subsequent pH scores. This was presented as a poster at Digestive Disease Week in 2009.

6/01/2006 / Research Assistant with Helen Bronte-Stewart MD
Department of Neurology and Neurological Sciences at Stanford University
Stanford, CA

·  Conducted a study investigating the effects of medication and deep brain stimulation on fine motor control across hands in Parkinson’s subjects.

·  Funded by Medical Scholars research fellowship at Stanford University.

7/01/2003-12/25/2005 / Research Assistant with Cheryl Conrad Ph.D.
Behavioral Neuroscience, Department of Psychology at Arizona State University
Tempe, AZ

·  Conducted an honors thesis research project investigating the mechanism of chronic stress induced spatial memory deficits.

·  Investigated the effects of the drug Phenytoin on chronic stress induced morphological changes in the hippocampus.

·  Investigated the effects of chronic stress and high fat diet on hippocampal neurons.

·  Funded by School of Life Sciences Undergraduate Research fellowship at ASU.
