TruStar Energy Celebrates Grand Opening of CNG Fueling Station for City of Denver

(DENVER, CO) Mar. 12, 2014 – TruStar Energy is pleased to announce the grand opening of the City of Denver’s first compressed natural gas fueling station - a large time-fill / fast-fill CNG fueling station that will provide fuel to Denver’s current fleet of seven CNG garbage trucks. The City plans over the next several years to significantly increase the number of CNG vehicles, which will fuel at the station.

“This is a great day for TruStar and the City of Denver,” said TruStar Vice President, Scott Edelbach. “Building a station of this size on time in the middle of a very challenging winter is a testament to our construction team. When people think of Denver, they think of clean air, mountains and blue skies. The completion of the new CNG fueling station is the beginning of the city’s conversion from using diesel to cleaner natural gas. TruStar Energy is privileged to be a part of this most important process.

The station has the capacity of fueling 136 vehicles simultaneously – which will support Denver’s vehicle migration plan over the next several years.

“Denver is very proud of this investment in alternative fuel infrastructure,” said Denver Mayor Michael B. Hancock. “The new CNG station is an important milestone in achieving our sustainability goals and elevating Denver’s reputation as a smart, livable city.”

According to Denver Public Works Executive Director, Jose Cornejo, TruStar Energy “…was a best-value selection based on a two-stage RFQ/RFP process that factored contractor experience with CNG and design build, proposed equipment, value engineering / value-add options, and price.”

“The new CNG fueling station is a major milestone in Denver’s investment in a cleaner, greener fleet,” said Cornejo. “As this station opens, Denver Public Works is gearing up to convert more of our heavy duty fleet to CNG, which will ultimately improve air quality and save tax payer money.”

The Denver station is Trustar Energy’s third project in Colorado – and continues to grow the White Plains-based company’s infrastructure footprint in the US and Canada.

“Converting from diesel to CNG is a game changer for enhancing the profitability of transportation operations,” said TruStar Energy President, Adam Comora. “Fuel savings of 40 to 50 percent create significant value for fleet operators and their partners. Natural gas is better for the environment, better for domestic energy independence and better for the bottom line – truly a win-win-win solution.”

TruStar Energy has historically focused on constructing “behind the fence” private stations like the one just finished for the City of Denver. Over the past few years it has built approximately 60 such stations in the United States. TruStar Energy has recently expanded out to build owned and public/private fueling stations.

TruStar Energy has the capability of building 40 CNG stations per year and expects to double that capacity over the next few years. The company’s successful growth is being driven by being the preferred partner for companies desiring to convert their transportation fleets from diesel to CNG. Given the significant cost savings, “speed is of the essence” in order to capture these cost savings as quickly as possible.

TruStar Energy LLC is the preferred partner for commercial fleets looking to transition their fuel supply from oil to natural gas. TruStar Energy provides a suite of solutions making the transition as simple and easy as possible for the customer. With station builds throughout the US and Canada, TruStar Energy is a recognized leader in providing CNG infrastructure and CNG fueling solutions.
