A SENATE RESOLUTION

TO WELCOME STANLEY “STAN” GROSSMAN OF SPRINGFIELD, NEW JERSEY, A DIRECTOR OF THE INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF LIONS CLUBS, TO SOUTH CAROLINA AND TO COMMEND HIM FOR HIS TIRELESS EFFORTS AND LEADERSHIP ON BEHALF OF THE INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF LIONS CLUBS.

Whereas, Stan Grossman of Springfield, New Jersey, has been a member of the Springfield Lions Club since 1967; and

Whereas, he has held many offices within the association, including club president, zone chairman, deputy district governor, cabinet treasurer, cabinet secretary, district governor, and council chairman; and

Whereas, in recognition of his service to the association, Director Grossman has received numerous awards, including the 100% Club President Award, the 100% District Governor Award, the Harold P. Nutter Distinguished Services Award, the International President’s Certificate of Appreciation, and an International President’s Award. Director Grossman is also a Melvin Jones Fellow; and

Whereas, Stan Grossman was elected to serve a two-year term as a director of the International Association of Lions Clubs at the association’s 82nd International Convention held in San Diego, California, from June 28 to July 2, 1999; and

Whereas, he is a retired director of vocational education and, in addition to his Lions’ activities, Director Grossman is a trustee of the board of directors of Senior Citizen Housing in Springfield, New Jersey, a member of Phi Delta Kappa, a past president of the New Jersey Industrial Arts Education Association, and a past president of the New Jersey Vocational and Arts Education Association. He is an Eagle Scout and has been recognized by the Boy Scouts of America with the Silver Beaver Award; and

Whereas, Stan Grossman will be in South Carolina for the South Carolina Mid-Winter Conference, and the members of the Senate, by this resolution, would like to extend to him a warm South Carolina welcome and recognize his efforts on behalf of the Lions Clubs. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate:

That the members of the South Carolina Senate welcome Stanley “Stan” Grossman of Springfield, New Jersey, a director of the International Association of Lions Clubs, to South Carolina and commend him for his tireless efforts and leadership on behalf of the International Association of Lions Clubs.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Stanley Grossman.
