ITALY: La Bell’Italia:History and Art in Venice, Florence, Tuscany and Rome(May 17 – 26, 2005)

DAY-TO-DAY ITINERARY
Day 1 > Tues. May 17th
  • Flight to Europe - from NewarkAirport to MalpensaAirport in Milan
Day 2 > Wed. May 18th: (Milan – Verona – Venice)
  • Arrival at MalpensaAirport in Milan
  • Transfer from the airport by private coach to the hotel in Venice (2 hour drive to Verona; add. 1 ½ hours to Venice)
  • Stop-over in Verona for lunch at own expense
  • Guided walking tour of the city center of Verona
  • Visit the Roman Arena in Verona
  • 2 nights in twin bedded rooms with bathrooms incl. breakfast in a 3-star hotel in Venice
  • Welcome dinner in Venice
Day 3 > Thurs. May 19th: (Venice)
  • Breakfast at your hotel
  • Guided walking tour of Venice incl. entrances to St. Mark’s Square and Doge’s Palace
  • Lunch at own expense in Venice
  • Free time afternoon for sightseeing and shopping in Venice
  • Dinner at own expense
Day 4 > Fri. May 20th: (Venice – Florence)
  • Breakfast at your hotel
  • Transfer by private coach during the day (4 hour drive to Florence)
  • Lunch at own expense along the way
  • Guided walking tour of Florence incl. entrances to Santa Croce, the Duomo, and the Accademia
  • 2 nights in twin bedded rooms with bathrooms incl. breakfast a 3-star hotel in Florence
  • Free time the rest of the day
  • Dinner at own expense
Day 5 > Sat. May 21st: (Florence)
  • Breakfast at your hotel
  • Visit of Uffizi and the Palazzo Medici
  • Lunch at own expense
  • Free time afternoon for sight seeing and shopping in Florence

/ Day 6 > Sun. May 22nd: (Florence – Lucca – San Gimignano - Siena)
  • Breakfast at your hotel
  • Transfer by private coach during the day
  • Guided walking tour of Lucca
  • Lunch at own expense in Lucca
  • Stop-over in San Gimignano: Free time for sight seeing
  • Guided walking tour of Siena

  • Dinner at the hotel or a nearby restaurant
Day 7 > Mon. May 23rd: (Siena – Pienza - Rome)
  • Breakfast at your hotel

  • Guided walking tour of Rome; especially the Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain

Day 8 > Tues. May 24th: (Rome)

  • Guided tour of the Pantheon
  • Guided tour of St. Peter’s Basilica

Day 9 > Wed. May 25th: (Rome)

  • Guided tour of ancient Rome incl. entrances to Roman Forum, Colosseum, and Baths of Caracala

  • Free time afternoon for sight seeing and shopping in Rome

Day 10 > Thurs. May 26th:

  • Transfer by private coach to the Fiumicini airport in Rome

  • NON-REFUNDABLE
  • COMMITMENT TO PAY FULL REMAINING BALANCE
2)March 1, 2005$2,490 due to International Center

HIST 105: World Civilization I
