GRADING POLICY

English 11 Grade Calculation:

MP1 + MP2 + MP3 + MP4 + FINAL EXAM / 5 = FINAL AVERAGE

Marking Period (MP) weighting of grades on assignments:

30%= Class work & Homework

30%=Tests, Projects & Quizzes

40%= Benchmark assessment

HOMEWORK POLICY

Homework is given regularly and is due at the beginning of class on the due date. Homework is a valuable and effective reinforcement tool and is a critical part of the learning process. Homework will be reviewed and graded on the date it is due, therefore,it is essential that your children complete the work on time to ensure the work is effective and meaningful to their learning. Late work will not be given full credit.

STUDENT RESPONSIBILITIES

Be on time, be respectful, and complete your homework.

Daily Classroom Routine:

  1. Enter classroom and read daily agenda
  2. Pick up your binder and take out your spiral notebook and Planner/Agenda.
  3. Depending on the activities and lessons for the day, we will write for about 20 minutes and read for about 20 minutes.
  4. There will be “Warm-up Activities” and “Closure Activities” to begin and end class.
  5. Daily Planner/Agenda must be filled out before leaving class.
