Course Description:
This Class is designed as a one semester elective Physical Education class for sophomore, juniors and senior students. This class is not to replace students required Physical Education Class.
Lifetime leisure and recreational activities is designed to encourage and motivate students to maintain a lifestyle that promotes healthy and beneficial activities later in life. It provides the foundation for a healthy, physically active lifestyle.
Objectives: S.W.B.A.T
- Apply the knowledge to be able to develop and maintain an active lifestyle.
- Apply required techniques to be competent in a variety of sport, adventure, and fitness activities.
- Demonstrate basic competence and participation in a variety of areas that may include individual and group activities, leisure/lifetime activities, and cooperative activities.
- Demonstrate understanding of the advanced skills, strategies, and rules of activities.
- Demonstrate knowledge of the relationships of movement concepts including physical, mental, and social applications.
- Identify the fitness benefits in a variety of activities.
- Identify activities and facilities in the community that meet personal participation and fitness needs.
- Participate in lifetime activities that are personally rewarding
- Participate in games and sports with participants of varying ability levels.
- Recognize the effects of age on activity performance and choice in a lifelong fitness and activity plan.

93-100%...... AParticipation = 80%
84-92%...... BHomework = 10%
73-83%...... CWriting = 10%
65-72%...... D
0-64%...... F
Final = 20% Each Quartile =40%
Class materials:Proper Dress Requirement for Cardio Fitness
A.Tennis Shoes and Socks
B.Athletic Shorts (Any color) (sweat shirts and pants are permitted in cooler weather)
C.T-shirt (sweat shirtsand pants are permitted in cooler weather)
Grading Procedure:
Students will be graded on participation and appropriate dress.
Formative skill assessments for individual sports
Final assessment at the end of the semester

Dressing
* On 6th Non Dress Student will fail Lifetime Leisure and Recreational Activities for that marking period.
Rules and Procedures:
Follow all procedures according to the student hand book, and including the following:
Respect: Please respect instructor, other students, property and yourself.
Absents: Attendance is a very important part of cardio fit class. Students that are absent must complete a sports packet (if unable to do physical activity) or an outside activity form upon returning to school.Time to make up work will be equal to the amount of time absent from school.
Tardy: Do not be late. If you are late make sure you have your planner signed.If you are tardy three times, you will have teacher detention.
Bagged Breakfast:There will be no eating breakfast once class begins. Please
dispose of all garbage.
Valuables: All valuables should be locked in my office. Failure to do so could result in other students stealing your valuables.
Locker Rooms: Keep the locker room and restroom areas clean. Place any paper towels and litter in the trash cans. Horseplay will not be tolerated in the locker room or in the gym. “1st offense” (Warning) “2nd offense” (teacher detention) 3rd offense(Written referral).
Set- up and Clean up: At the direction of the physical education instructor, students will stop activities and assist the instructor in returning the equipment used. Some set up may be required on the part of the students.
Injuries: If a student should become injured during class (no matter how slight) please inform the instructor so that proper action may be taken.
