1. SCOPE: Review a Completed Evaluation Report is a 6-hourlesson. The purpose of this lesson is to examine the Evaluation Reporting System (ERS) to identify the types of evaluation reports, and the rating chain and evaluation requirements.

This lesson builds on previous studies of:

  • Coordinating Personnel Support.

Students will reach the following lesson outcomes through assigned readings, actively participating in class, and completing the practical exercise:

  • Determine rating chain qualifications and responsibilities
  • Identify the types of evaluations reports and requirements for each one
  • Review evaluations for completion and accuracy

2. LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

This lesson supports TLO2, Deliver Essential Personnel Services. In addition this lesson supports or reinforces the following ELOs:

  • Review Update the Officer and Enlisted Records Brief
  • Process Personnel Information Management

ELO 2.7:

Action: Review a Completed Evaluation Report

Condition: Mid-grade HR Leaders in a classroom environment working individually and as a member of a small group, using doctrinal and administrative publications, practical exercises, case studies, personal experience, handouts, discussion and an awareness of the Operational Environment (OE) variables and actors.

Standard: Application includes:

1. Identifying the principles of the Evaluation Reporting System (ERS).

2. Determining rating change qualifications and responsibilities.

3. Identifying the types of evaluations.

4. Verifying correct and accurate entries for information entered in Part I through VII of the Officer Evaluation Report (OER) and Part I through V of the Noncommissioned Officer Report (NCOER).
