GOALS AND OBJECTIVES
MAHA GOALS & OBJECTIVES
Goal 1:Strengthen the advocacy agenda among members and increase action, awareness and involvement.
Action
A.Maintain grassroots networking among members through an active Legislative Advocacy Director.
B.Develop communication with elected officials at all levels of government.
C.Work in conjunction with the respective Hospitals-ACT chairman concerning legislative/advocacy issues as defined by MHA.
Goal 2:Ensure open lines of communication between MAHA and MHA.
Action
- Continue to support the involvement of the MAHA President as a member of the MHA Board of Trustees.
- Eliminate scheduling conflicts to allow participation of HAMA in all MHA events
Goal 3:Create a cooperative environment to enhance the success of MAHA.
Action
A.Focus on mission, goals, and objectives
B.Evaluate goals annually.
C.Empower Board members to be decisions-makers.
Goal 4:Identify and develop resource material and programs that meet specific membership needs.
Action
A.Encourage districts to use MAHA Board members as a resource
B.Continue to work with MCDVS to address the concerns of members and Directors of Volunteer Services, and the development of resources
C.Provide information to educate members
D.Provide resources and update as necessary
E.Encourage members to utilize the Resource link on the MAHA website.
Goal 5:Improve communication with members
Action
A.Encourage members to submit information to HIGHLIGHTS.
B.Encourage members to use excerpts from HIGHLIGHTS for their publications.
C.Encourage use of the MAHA website
Goal 6:Encourage members to be proactive
Action
A.Encourage review annually to ensure that membership requirements and bylaws continue to be in the best interest of the members and the activities of their healthcare facility
B.Provide information to members about programs and activities flexible enough to attract and retain a wide variety of new members
C.Develop material and workshop for legislative training for members.
Goal 7:Encourage closer working relationships between members and their healthcare governing boards, management and medical staff.
Action
A.Increase awareness of healthcare management and medical staff concerning the members and their potential to contribute to their respective healthcare facilities
B.Strengthen relationships between members and their facility governing board
C.Enhance the capability of individual leaders to increase, document and market the value of contributions members make to their healthcare facilities
