Nomination Form–Annual Awards
AGM 2018 Nomination Notice for Archery GB Annual Awards
We all know archers who have excelled at shooting or made an outstanding contribution to their club, county or sport as a whole-and now it is your chance to get them the recognition they deserve. Archery GB is calling for nominations for its annual awards, which will be presented at the 2018 Annual General Meeting.
The Awards
You can put members forward for the following trophies:
- Archery GB Plaquettes – Recognising volunteers and awarded for service to Archery
- Hartwell Trophy- Donated by Lord Hartwell, this trophy is awarded to “The Archery GB Archer of the Year”, the archer who is considered to have given exemplary service to archery during the year, in any sphere of the sport – performance, administration, coaching or development of the sport.
- The Gussy Trophy – given by Michael Bentine and awarded to the wheelchair archer of the year. Nominees must be permanently restricted to a wheelchair and considered to have given exemplary service in any sphere of archery.
- The Archery GB Region & County Website Award – donated by a member who is a webenthusiast, this trophy is awarded to acknowledge the work and dedication of ourvolunteer web masters. Today, websites play an ever increasing role in communicationat all levels in our sport – be it in attracting new members or keeping current members informed. Many members volunteer their professional skills and others are prepared to give it their best shot, to build and maintain their sites and to encourage content where information needs to be added or updated regularly and of course, the web environment brings its own technical challenges.
- The Archery GB Club Website Award – the club equivalent of the award above.
- The Toxophilus Trophy – awarded to the best club, county or regional magazine. You need to send four copies of each of two issues from the previous year to Membership Services with a nomination form.
- The Jack Flinton Helping Hand Trophy – recognises services to coaching and nominees must be qualified members of the coaching organisations. They can be put forward by individuals and/or clubs and the National Coaching Committee will make the recommendation for the award.
How to Apply
The deadline for nominations is 1 January2018, so if you know somebody whose achievements over the past year should be recognised, let us know.
Forms are available or by contacting Membership Services. If you want to nominate someone, let them know – because they have to agree to it. If there are no nominations for any award – apart from the Toxophilus Trophy and the Ascham Mazur Trophy – the Awards Panel may nominate someone to make sure the award is presented.
