Tennis

Congratulations to Erika Wong and Paige Sheridan for finishing 2nd place in yesterday's District Tennis Tournament that was held at the Minzemayer Tennis Center. After 2 1/2 hours, they lost a hard fought battle to Vandegrift in the Championship match yesterday. They then had to defend 2nd place by playing a "playback" match against teammates Amber Cornman and Ashley Brooks who beat another Vandegrift team to finish in 3rd place. Their playback match lasted almost 3 hours and they walked off the court after 10:00pm on Wednesday night. It was a tough battle and Cornman and Brooks put up a fight with the score ending 6, -3, 4. Again, a great night of tennis by both teams.

Also placing at the district tournament are as follows:

Ashley Brooks and Amber Cornman: 3rd place, Girls Doubles TJ Fischer and Hannah Walden: 3rd place, Mixed Doubles Justus Aarhus: 3rd place, Girls Singles Lena Arndt, 4th place, Girls Singles

Good Luck to Paige and Erika as they travel to San Antonio to compete at the Regional tennis tournament on April 20 and 21.
