Title: ISSO/Network Security Specialist

As an IT Security professional, you will focus on providing technical support for ViaSat’s Corporate Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM). In this role, you will get to:

Perform several aspects of the computer security program enabling the company to meet contractual requirements under the National Industrial Security Program (NISP). Because IT security requires efficient processes, you will also conduct regular audits to ensure that systems are being operated securely, and computer security policies/procedures are implemented as defined in security plans. Provide technical and user support for several stand-alone, LAN and WAN systems. Maintain records of HW/SW revisions, perform various configuration management activities, virus updates, set up of user accounts, reset passwords, etc., ensuring all documentation is notated as required. Participate in contamination network cleanup activities related to possible computer security violations/incidents. Respond to queries and requests for computer security information and reports. May provide work leadership for lower level employees. Support responsibilities may include various levels of activities for ViaSat remote cleared facilities.

Required:

·  Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

·  2+ years experience in the functionality of common software programs and systems hardware functions to include, but not limited to:Windows Client and Server Operating Systems 2K/2003/XP/7/2008 R2);Sun Solaris (optional); Linux (e.g. Debian, Fedora, Red Hat, SUSE, Ubuntu); Active Directory; Group Policy and GPO's.

·  2+ years experience in managing Routers and Switches (e.g. Cisco Catalysts).

·  Strong working knowledge of Symantec/Veritas Backup Exec and/or HP Data Protector backup software.

·  Strong understanding of Server/Active Directory administration

·  3+ years in a DoD, or other industrial security program and in-depth understanding of National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM) with emphasis on Chapter 8 requirements and DSS ISFO Process Manual Version 3.0 or later.

·  US Citizenship with the ability to obtain/hold a DoD Secret level clearance.

·  Completion of the Defense Security Service Academy (DSSA) Information Systems Security Courses, to include the NISPOM Chapter 8 Requirements (IS 201.01) and the NISP Network Security Basics (IS 302.02) is a plus.

·  Excellent written communication and organizational skills

·  Possess the interpersonal skills necessary to deal courteously and effectively with a diverse group of individuals.

·  Ability to work well under pressure, good problem solving skills

Preferred:

·  Experience with Windows and Linux/UNIX account creation, file system maintenance, and backup applications.

·  Familiarity with NISPOM Supplement, the Director of Central Intelligence Directives (DCID’s), DoD 5105.21-M-1, Joint DODIIS Standards, NSA CSS 3-16/9-12.
