DBN 2017 SQT Format
· All participants shall be active members in good standings with the Delaware BASS Nation.
· All registrations are due the Wednesday before the scheduled event.
· The Draw for the 1st Day of competition will be held the Wednesday before the 1st scheduled day of completion.
· The 2017 Team will be comprised of 10 Anglers and 10 Co-Anglers.
· The event will be run as a PRO/AM style event.
· Participants will register as an Angler / Co-Angler
· Entry FEE: $150.00 for Boaters Position / $100.00 for Non-Boater
· Angler Definition:
o Individual will be maintaining control of the boat for the entire event, unless an emergency occurs.
o Individual will maintain control of the trolling motor throughout the event unless they choose to relinquish control to the Co-Angler.
o The Angler will be required to catch a 5 fish limit each day of competition.
o The Angler is responsible for any and all damage / malfunctions that they cause to their boat during the event.
· Co-Angler Definition:
o Individual will fish from the back of the boat, unless invited to the front deck by the Angler.
o Individual is not able to assume control of the boat while powered by gas motor, unless an emergency arises.
o The Co-Angler will be required to catch a 3 fish limit each day of competition.
o The Co-Angler is responsible for any and all damages that they cause to their designate Boat during each day of the event.
· It is encouraged that each club determines Angler / Co-Angler participants prior to the draw for the SQT.
· All predetermined Angler / Co-Angler pairings are guaranteed their designation for the event.
· The odd number of individuals will either be put into an Angler / Co-Angler Pool.
· The Angler / Co-Angler will be drawn and paired the night of the draw.
· If there are any individuals left without an Angler or a Co-Angler then they participants will have to forego fishing the event.
· At the end of Day One anyone wishing to not return must notify the Tournament Director immediately after the weigh-in. In such case an Angler / Co-Angler will have to drop from that individuals club.
KEY POINTS
· All DBN insurance requirements shall apply for the SQT
· There will be random insurance checks conducted the day of the event. It will also be mandatory that boats scheduled to launch 1 & 2 will have to provide proof of insurance prior to the scheduled start of each tournament day
· Kill switches will be checked prior to the start of each tournament day.
Recommendations
· It is also recommended that Big Fish monies should be discussed prior to launch. (Individual or Team)
· It is recommended that fish landing responsibilities be discussed prior to launch. (Netting)
· Angler / Co-Angler expectations should be discussed prior to the start of each tournament day. The Angler should clarify his expectations with each of his assigned Anglers.
· Angler / Co-Angler should discuss monetary compensation for fuel cost and etc. prior to the event. The Co-Anglers are not expected to pay any of the daily operating costs.
