EUROPEAN SUCCESS FOR AZIMUT YACHTS
the azimut 62S wins the 2007 motor boat of the year award in london and the award for the european boat of the year in dusseldorf
DUSSELDORF - 22/01/2007. On 8 January 2007, the Azimut 62S was awarded the Prize for the best over-45 feet Sportcruiser, promoted by the British magazines Motor Boats Monthly and Motor Boat & Yachting, at the London Boat Show.
Just two weeks later, the Azimut 62S was elected European Boat of the Year at the Düsseldorf Boat Show. The adjudicating committee, consisting of the editors of five great nautical magazines, Barche a Motore (Italy), BOOTE (Germany), Neptune (France), Swissboat (Switzerland) and Yachtrevue (Austria) went for the Azimut 62S as the best European motor boat in the over-50 feet segment.
The award was accepted at the gala evening organised by publishers Delius Klasing, by the Chief Executive of Azimut Yachts, Ing. Federico Martini who commented: “Azimut Yachts begins 2007 with another triumph which recognises the European supremacy of the Azimut 62S and the worldwide success of our models. We are proud to accept this award, an expression of the unanimous appreciation of a panel of important European boat magazines for this model from the innovative S line.”
Presented at the 2005 Genoa Boat Show, the Azimut 62S brings together the best features of the S line, a perfect synthesis of sportiness, performance and comfort. The search for innovative solutions has attained unparalleled levels: limitless space and generous relax areas.
The Azimut 62S presents a large salon on deck and an exceptional media room, two splendid cabins with bathroom plus an optional crew cabin. The owner’s cabin is located amidships and offers outstanding size and luminosity thanks to the row of six square windows on each side. The VIP cabin in the bow has a central double bed which can be turned with a scissors movement into two single beds to be set against the sides: a solution introduced for the first time in the nautical world by Azimut Yachts. The two CAT C18 engines of 1015 hp each push the Azimut 62S along at a top speed of 34 knots, guaranteeing a sporting nature that blends with the comfort and elegance.
The Düsseldorf boat show also provided the stage for the launch of the Azimut 62 Evo, a restyling of this highly successful model that was introduced on the market in 2002: a great motoryacht that is exceptionally manoeuvrable and agile.
