YUKON KOYUKUK ELDER ASSISTED LIVING FACILITY

COOK/FOOD SERVICE MANAGER

The Yukon Koyukuk Elder Assisted Living Facility(YKEALF)in Galena, Alaska is accepting applications for the position of cook/food service manager. Please contact YKEALF at 656-2574 or email or for an application or for more information.

Qualifications:

  • Respect elders and strong desire to provide for their care
  • Must be highly dependable.
  • Ability to perform physical work, such as lift/push up to 50 lbs., extensive walking, able to carry, stand, bend, squat, crawl, reach, and kneel using good body mechanics for sustained periods of time.
  • Must possess sight/hearing senses, or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately so that the requirements of this position can be fully met.
  • Good general health and demonstrated emotional stability in order to cope with the physical, mental and emotional stress of the position.
  • Must pass a criminal background check (done by the State through YKEALF)
  • Must provide documentation for a tuberculosis clearance.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities: (request more detailed description of duties)

  • Plan, prepare and serve nutrition meals to the elder population; sometimes with special dietary needs.
  • Assist with maintaining compliance with appropriate local, state, and federal regulatory standards.
  • Publish monthly menus.
  • Keep records of meals served.
  • Strives to attain excellence in consumer satisfaction through ongoing solicitation and measurement of consumer feedback, implementation of consumer suggestions,
  • Provide back up for caregivers.
  • Other duties as assigned or required.

Working Conditions

  • Located in Galena, Alaska
  • There are some scheduling options: 40 hour work week, 10 days on w/ 11 off (part time) or 10 days on with 4 off (considered full time.)
  • Supervised by the YKEALF Administrator
