(INSERT TOWN) YOUNGSTERS JOIN BEN AND HOLLY’S LITTLE EXPLORER CHALLENGE TO HELP BEAT CHILDREN’S CANCERS

CHILDREN at (insert name of nursery/school) have harnessed the power of their imaginations to help beat children’s cancers sooner.

Youngsters (insert ages e.g. aged three to five) donned elf ears and fairy wings for an enchanting fundraising party on (insert date), as part of a magical new campaign from Cancer Research UK Kids & Teens featuring Ben & Holly’s Little Kingdom.

The charity has teamed up with Entertainment One’s popular preschool TV show to launch the Little Explorer Challenge, which raises vital funds for research into cancers affecting children, teens and young adults.

Inspired by the Ben and Holly’s love of exploring nature and helping others, children at (insert name of nursery/school) have wholeheartedly embraced the Challenge. They have taken part in a range of fun themed activities such as (insert details e.g. making the charming costumes for their special event).

The school’s/nursery’s (delete as appropriate) fundraising activities, (insert details e.g. including donating money to wear their colourful party creations), have raised around (insert amount) to help give more youngsters with cancer the chance to grow up and live long and happy lives.

In the UK, around five children are diagnosed with cancer every day – that’s around 1,700 a year.

Through raising money and awareness, Cancer Research UK Kids & Teens hopes to better understand these cancers and find kinder treatments and cures.

Claire Rowney, director of Cancer Research UK Kids & Teens, said: “Back in the 1970s, more than a third of children with cancer survived their disease beyond ten years. Today, that is around three quarters and our work has been at the heart of this.

“But we can’t stop there - our ambition is to double the amount we spend on children’s cancer research over the next five to ten years to help save more lives. The support of (insert school) will help us carry out more research to help find better and kinder treatments for children with cancer.”

The Little Explorer Challenge runs until the end of July, 2016. Nurseries, preschools and primary schools can sign up for an activity pack full of ideas that will inspire and encourage children to explore the outdoors and get creative in aid of Cancer Research UK Kids & Teens.
